《恐龙危机》是由卡普空开发的第三人称冒险游戏，《恐龙危机》使用了全新的3D的系统引擎，风格上与《生化危机》非常相似。
本作由生化危机系列的系统开发而来，游戏以3D模式进行，在行走过程中视角也会随之改变改善死角问题。从场景中有不少《生化危机》的影子，如出现多处血迹与尸体，在气氛、悬疑上制作得非常类似，可以说是《生化危机》的恐龙版，其发售日与《生化危机3》接近（《恐龙危机》在《生化危机3》之前发售）。本作的故事以单向发展，操作与生化危机相似，但不同的是，《恐龙危机》以逃亡为主。能与恐龙战斗的机会有限，而且由于枪支威力相较于恐龙的杀伤力和生命力而言显得不足，战斗上不宜与恐龙硬碰。本作共有三种不同结局，结局是视最后的分歧选择而定，虽然各结局内容不同，但都看过的话就能找出彼此的关连性而了解全貌。
